About the game
Gomoku is one of the simplest board games: take turns on a 13×13 board and be the first to line up five. The computer weighs attack and defense and gets steadier the longer your streak lasts.
How to play
- Take turns placing stones; the first to get five in a row (any direction) wins.
- A win scores 100, plus a bonus for winning in fewer moves, then the next game begins.
- A draw moves on to the next game; losing a game ends the run.
- The computer plays more carefully as your streak grows.
Controls
Tap an intersection to place a stone. You play black; the computer moves first every other game.
Tips for a high score
- An open three (empty at both ends) must be blocked — use it to keep the initiative.
- Create two threats at once and the opponent can’t block both.
- Always block the computer’s open threes and fours.
